Dear Sir or Madam,
Please supply a list of all Greater London Authority Sure Start
Childrens Centres.
Are these run privately or council controlled?
If council controlled under which department do they fall?
Are these run for profit, if council controlled supply the
accounts?
What are the policies in place and who created these?
What services do these centres provide?
How many children on a yearly basis do these centres cater for in
each area?

Subject: Freedom of Information request - Sure Start Centres
The Mayor would like to thank you for your interest in his work and he is
keen to answer your query as quickly and fully as possible. As you will
appreciate, he receives very large amount of correspondence but he is
committed to responding to your query within 20 working days.
However, the Greater London Authority (GLA) will only respond to queries
that relate to its work and will refer relevant queries to the appropriate
functional body for them to reply e.g. transport related queries will be
referred to Transport for London (TfL).
Please note that the GLA does not accept unsolicited job applications or

The Greater London Authority (GLA) does not hold the information you have requested. Sure Start is the Government's programme to deliver the best start in life for every child by bringing together early education, childcare, health and family support.
The Early Years, Extended Schools and Special Needs Group, within the DCSF, is responsible for delivering Sure Start.
