Dear Sir or Madam,
Please can you inform me:
1. The number and value of loans written off by SLC in the last
five years, and the reasons for the write-offs.
2. Provide a copy of any briefing/analysis paper which forecasts
likely write-offs in the future.
3. The total value of repayments received in the last 5 years, and
the total value of loans issued in the last 5 years.
4. The number of non-UK students receiving a student loan in the
last 5 years and the value of this. The number of non-UK students
in repayment, the value, and numbers of this group in arrears, and
value.

I refer to your email requesting information under the Freedom of
Information Act and subsequently your email below.
I apologise for the delay in responding to you.
In response to Questions one, three, four and five of your request, this
information is available from the published Statistical First Releases
which appear on our website,

In response to question 2 of your request, we do not generate any papers
which forecasts likely write-offs therefore I am unable to provide this.
I trust that my answer to you is satisfactory, however if you are unhappy
with information provided in relation to your freedom of information
request, you may ask SLC for an internal review. Any such appeal would be
conducted by Chris Andrew, Company Secretary, 100 Bothwell Street, Glasgow,
G2 7JD. You may request a review by writing to Chris Andrew or by emailing
the FOI Office ([SLC request email]).
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
