Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know the number of students who were due to start
their University course, (1st year,2nd year, 3rd year, 4th or 5th
year), at The University of Leeds in September 2009 who have
applied for a student loan but have not yet received their loan; as
their application is still being processed. I would also like to
know the number of students who's application has been approved,
yet they have not yet received their loan.
Yours faithfully,
Siobhan Cooley

Dear Siobhan
I refer to your email below.
Unfortunately the number of student loan applications which have still to
be processed cannot be broken down by university. Therefore I am unable to
provide this information.
Once a student loan application has been approved a payment schedule letter
is sent to the student. The schedule letter is then taken to the university
and once the university has confirmed the student's attendance, the funding
will be paid within 3-4 working days via BACS.
I trust that my answer to you is satisfactory, however if you are unhappy
with the decisions made by me in relation to your freedom of information
request, you may ask SLC for an internal review. Any such appeal would be
conducted by Chris Andrew, Company Secretary, 100 Bothwell Street, Glasgow,
G2 7JD. You may request a review by writing to Chris Andrew or by emailing
the FOI Office ([SLC request email]). SLC will only consider
requests for internal reviews which are made within 3 months of the date of
our original response (except in exceptional circumstances).
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
