Steps to Work
Amie Jones made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions
Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.
From: Amie Jones
7 May 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to request information about the "Steps to Work"
scheme. If you feel you cannot comply with my request can you
please inform me how to make my request more "achievable", as per
Section 16 of the FOI Act. I understand I am entitled to a response
within 20 days, which will be Friday 5th June 2009.
When was this scheme introduced? Can I have copies of minutes of
meetings discussing the proposal and eventual introduction of the
scheme? I understand names may be redacted to protect identities.
Can you please tell me how many Steps to Work schemes are currently
operating across the UK? Have there been schemes which were set up
but now no longer exist? If so, why are they no longer in place?
How many people have attended Steps to Work to date? Can this be
broken down by year since the scheme came into place? How many
people are currently attending such schemes? How many have found
work through the scheme?
Are there incentives for people to find work, and if so what are
they?
Please can you acknowledge receipt of this request. I look forward
to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
Amie Jones

Dear Central FOI Team,
Thank you for your reply to my FOI request re Steps to Work in
whcih you state that Steps to Work is a Northern Ireland scheme and
therefore you do not hold any information requested.
I know people who have attended Steps to Work in Midlands. Their
website, www.stepstowork.org, lists the DWP as one of their primary
partners. Can you suggest who I contact in order to request the
information I have asked for?
Many thanks,
Amie Jones
