I request a year on year statistical breakdown, for internal staff
disciplinaries, held against Thurrock Council and Vertex employees
for the period 2003 to 2008
(i.e. the actual number of preliminary hearings held and the actual
number of full disciplinaries ultimately convened)

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information enquiry. At this moment
in time we are unable to supply you with the information you have
requested as it is unclear to us what information we could make available
to assist you.
We would like you to provide us with clarification on the issues below in
order for us to respond appropriately to your request.
We need to seek clarity in respect of collecting data around staff
disciplinarians. Does your request requires details around the
investigation stage or the full hearing as under the Thurrock Policy we do
not hold preliminary hearings - only investigations and full hearings. The
difficulty being that in some instances investigations are undertaken and
do not result in final hearings based on the outcome and recommendations.
The Freedom of Information Act requires that we process your request
within a further 20 working days of the date clarification is provided.
If we are unable to meet this deadline we will inform you of this and the
reasons why. Please forward your response to me as soon as you are able
and we will continue accordingly.

The total number of preliminary "investigations" conducted against
any Thurrock Council/Vertex employee, working for Thurrock Council.
(there must surely be records of this) Then the total number of
disciplinaries actually convened after preliminary investigations
were completed.
These figures to be year on year, from 2003 to 2008
