Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to make a request in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act (FOI).
During the period 01 January 2008 to 01 January 2009:
1. How many Police Constables were employed by your force?
2. How many of these were transfers?
3. How many officers were promoted to higher ranks during the above
period?
4. How many current vacancies are there within the force, and what
are these vacancies?
5. How many officers classify themself as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or
Transgender (LGBT)?

I have dealt with this in accordance with the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 and respond to your request as follows :
Your Request(s) and Response(s) :
1. How many Police Constables were employed by your force? Response : 1st
January, 2008 - 627, 1st January, 2009 - 631.
2. How many of these were transfers? Response : Part 1, Section 17, 1 (b)
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 requires Central
Scotland Police to advise you that we do not hold the information you
have requested. Central Scotland Police do not have a way of
reporting how many Officers were transferees.
3. How many officers were promoted to higher ranks during the above
period? Response : 16
4. How many current vacancies are there within the force, and what are
these vacancies? Response : 7 Vacancies, as follows :
Authorised Firearms Officer
DCI/CI - Branch Commander
DS - Crime Management Division
DS - Specialist Training - Crime Management Division
PC - Constable/ARV Constable

5. How many officers classify themselves as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual
or Transgender (LGBT)? Response : 18 - However please note that
that it is not mandatory that police officers complete this so may not
be a true representative figure.
You should be aware that Central Scotland Police hold the Copyright for
