gamesmonitor.org made this Freedom of Information request to Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

Dear Sir or Madam,
In the last 3 years has there been an agreement or contract between
the Lee Valley Park Springfield Marina and British Waterways to
supply water to boats on the River Lea, boats not paying for berths
in the marina itself?
If such an arrangement did exist is it still operative?
If this arrangement or contract has been cancelled what is the
reason?
Yours faithfully,
Charles Batsworth

Dear Mr Batsworth
To answer the first part of your question there is no such contract in existence, nor has there ever been one.
However, potable water supply is made available to our Berth Holders and forms part of our service to them, for which they have their own access to the point through a key.
Water is not available to the general public unless they purchase marina services, when access is provided.
Springfield is a private marina and not connected with British Waterways and so therefore, is not governed by the same principles nor benefits from the River/Canal licence income. British Waterways provide free water points around the River/Canal system throughout England and Wales. The closest to Springfield Marina is at Tottenham.
