Does the below relate to Special Constables. The subject line sugests so
but no mention in the body of the text.
Also can you be more specific as to what your looking for when you ask - I
would also like a copy of any materials that police staff use during this
procedure.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Firstly appologise for the late reply

The below request is asking for information on Special Constables
yes.

Any thing from how officers are trained to how officers are
recruited would be helpfull.

Also if you have copies of the procedure and how staff asses the
procedure of the aplication process.

If staff pick out certain qualities they think relate to a good
police officer before recruiting an officer would also help

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

Thank you for your email dated 27 August 2008 in which you clarify a
request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria
Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of
access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police),
subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

In relation to Special Constables:
I would like a copy of the recruitment procedure for Northumbria police.
I would also like a copy of any materials that police staff use during
this procedure.
Anything from how officers are trained to how officers are recruited would
be helpful.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I am
pleased to provide a response for your attention.

The information you have requested is available via the Northumbria Police
website.

As the information you have requested is accessible by other means I have
not provided you with a copy of the information and will rely on Section
21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. You should therefore consider
this a refusal under section 17 of the Act for your request.
