Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lambeth Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Social Housing Questions'.

The amount of time it has taken Lambeth to provide the information
is unacceptable. Providing you where waiting on additional
information, I can only come to the conclusion that you are now
writing a policy that you don't have in place.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Ann Brown

Dear Ms Brown

Thank you for you Freedom of Information request. I apologise for the
delay in my response.

Question 1

I would like to know If property that have been sold by
Lambeth

have been replace with new social housing properties, if so how

many?

Answer 1

I believe my colleague Tunde Ogbe answered a similar question from you in
November 2009, on asset disposal. I attach his response to you for your
information.

Question 2

What policy are now in place for Planning Applications by social

Housing groups who plan to build new properties within Lambeth: -

Making sure that Lambeth Residents are given priority to these new

properties and how long this has been in place

The Council has the right to nominate applicants for a proportion of new
social rented housing association properties in its area. The remainder
are allocated directly by the housing associations themselves. For
housing association schemes funded by the Homes and Community Agency, it
is a condition of funding that the Council has nomination rights to at
least 50% of 1-bedroom and studio flats, and 75% of 2-bedroom and larger
properties. Nominations to these properties are made according to the
Council's Housing Allocation Scheme. The current Housing Allocation
Scheme was published in 2008.

Question 3

How many none Lambeth residents have been given priority for social

housing for new built property within Lambeth over the last 15

years? and a list of social housing groups who have built new

properties in Lambeth and have allocated these properties to

individuals outside the borough?

Answer3

The Council's Housing Allocation Scheme applies equally to new build and
re-lets of existing properties. I am afraid that the recording of the
Council's nominations to housing association properties does not
distinguish between whether the property is a new build or a re-let of an
existing property, so we are unable to answer you question about
allocations to new build properties.

Apologies once again for the delay.

I trust this deals with your query.
