Dear Mr Walker,
I am writing in response to your request of 30 December 2009 for information regarding expenditure by the Council on shows, parades, carnivals and similar events.
We can confirm that in 2009 Norwich City Council spent the following amounts for the following events:-
Bands £3,500 12 concerts in parks
Openstages and Childplay £9,100 18 performances for children in parks
Lord Mayors Celebrations £144,000 Major three day festival in July
KidZone £46,000 15 activity days for children in summer
Christmas £11,000 Christmas lights switch on and celebration
Ice Sculpture Trail £8,000 1 day festival in December
