Thank you for your emails dated 24 and 25 March 2009 containing Freedom of
Information Act enquiries.

The basis of deciding the cost for business and residents was consistent
with existing schemes.

With regard to the follow up relating to your original enquiry in November
2008, a reply was sent to you on 3 December 2008 and a copy is attached to
this email.

With regard to the new enquiry relating to the number of permits issued, I
am unable to provide the following information:

The Council's accounting year runs from 1 April to 31 March and therefore,
no permits have yet been issued for the 2009/10 year.

With regard to the 2008/9 year I am able to provide the following
statistics:

* The number of businesses eligible for a permit is 478.
* The number of business permits issued for 2008/9 (at at 27 March 2009)
is 301.
* The number of businesses with more than one permit is 46.
* The maximum number of permits issued to a single business is 14
(although 38 were issued to Hunters Bar Infants and Junior School).
* The number of residences eligible for a permit is 4253.
* The number of residents permits issued for 2008/9 (as at 27 March
2009) is 1919.
* The number of residences with more than one permit is 68.
* The maximum number of permits issued to a single residence is 4.

With regard to your email dated 10 November 2009, that you chased up on 24
March, please find attached our response that was sent on 3 December 2008.

Our response to you was prepared prior to the end of the 2008/2009
financial year and the information was therefore correct. As we are only
just into the new financial year, the figures would not give a full

Can you please clarify your requirements as far as information is
concerned.

The figures which we sent you related to permits issued up until the last
few days of March 2009 and we stated that the figures for 2009-10 were
"NIL" because at the time of preparing the figures, it was still March.

Can you please confirm whether you would like the final figures for the
year ended 31 March 2009 (which will be very similar to those already
supplied), and if you would also like the figures issued so far in April
2009?
