Senior Officer Arrest History

Winston Smith made this Freedom of Information request to Cambridgeshire Constabulary

The request was successful.

From: Winston Smith

4 March 2010

Dear Cambridgeshire Constabulary,

Could you please advise the last date on which each of your serving
ACPO ranked officers made an arrest. By ACPO rank I mean all
officers of the rank of Chief Superintendant upto and including the
Chief Constable.

Would you please indicate whether the officer was off or on duty at
the time of the arrest.

I require no more information other than the date.

Yours faithfully,

Winston Smith

ACPO rank does not do arrests---that is not their purpose, and if an officer of this rank did make an arrest, it would cause raised eyebrows throughout every acpo suite in the country, as well as chaos in every custody suite.

Seems that ACPO ranks DO make arrests then! Nice to see that senior officers don't turn into shrinking violets.
