George Danezis made this Freedom of Information request to Cambridge City Council
Cambridge City Council did not have the information requested.
From: George Danezis
26 March 2008
Dear Sir or Madam,
Your "Cambridge City Council’s CCTV System -- Annual Report 1st
April 2006 to 31st March 2007" (page 13) [1] contains a very
accurate break-down of arrests per type of suspected offense aided
by the Cambridge CCTV camera network. Could you please further
provide the number of those arrests that lead to a conviction, an
accepted caution, or a guilty plea?
Yours faithfully,
George Danezis

Cambridge City Council

Dear Mr Danezis
Unfortunately we do not have access to that information and this is a
general problem with CCTV systems throughout the UK. We have been trying
for some considerable time to get the police or CPS to give us full feed
back but so far without success. We do occasionally get some feed back
but it is very hit and miss and very often we only find out the result
by reading the local paper. So I am sorry I cannot provide you with the
information you require.
The only thing I can suggest is that you write to the Crown Prosecution
Service or the police and I hope you have more success than we have.
Yours faithfully
Martin Beaumont
