Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could you supply me, preferably in electronic format, all
information pertaining to the disposal by the City Council of the
nuclear bunker located off Brooklands Avenue.
This should include, but not limited to, details of offers that
were made, what criteria were undertaken to decide the successful
purchaser, who purchased it, any information on promises made by
the buyer on what will happen to it and so on.
Also, if there are any plans to develop the site, these should be
included in the response to this request if possible. Any other
information held by the City Council with regards to the nuclear
bunker (for example, evacuation planning, personnel provisioning,
as so on) would be appreciated. If this is beyond the remit of the
council, I would be grateful if you could direct me to the bodies
who would hold this information.
Yours faithfully,
FOI

Dear Ms Barratt-White
The site including the bunker was sold by the Government to Countryside Properties for the Accordia development. English Heritage resisted proposals for its demolition which led to Countryside Properties trying to resell it.
Cambridge City Council has had no involvement in this issue subsequently.
We suggest you contact the relevant Government department. Go East, Eastbrook, Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge CB2 2DF - tel: 01223 372500 may be able to direct you to the appropriate department.
