Sale of Married Quarters

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to ask as to why when SFA ( married
quarters) are being sold off are the tenants moved from the houses
then the properties sold off. I know of some cases that the houses
were sold even while servicemen and their families still lived in
them. It used to be the case that the tenant got first refusal. As
a serving member of the Armed Forces I feel that we are being let
down as in this day and age housing prices are rocketing beyond an
affordable level and it comes across as this selling system is to
make a fast buck rather than help service families. I know many
families that cannot afford to purchase their own house, but to be
offered the choice, as used to be the case, may provide that
opportunity for just such action. The armed forces are stretched
beyond reason and things like this would greatly increase moral,
for families at home the security of their own house while loved
ones are serving overseas would possibly ease the fear factor.
Yours faithfully,
