Dear Sir or Madam,
I hoped you might be able to provide me with information about how resource allocation decisions are made with regard to human safety when using different forms of transport, such as roads or trains. Specifically I would like to know how decisions are made on the quantity of resource to be allocated to attempt to save a life, ie the cost per life year gained value used.
If the calculation is not made in this way could you please inform me how it is made.
Many thanks for your help with this enquiry.
Yours faithfully,
Dr Jon Beauchamp
