From: Mark Charlesworth
13 July 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could you advise me how West Yorkshire Police is being
proactive in reducing the risk of speeding motorists, and the risk
of an accident on Bradford Road. Wrenthorpe; Wrenthorpe Road,
Wrenthorpe; Duke Of York Street/Coronation Street; and also the
serious risk of the very wide section at the junction of Coronation
Street & Wrenthorpe Road, Wrenthorpe?
Near the park on Wrenthorpe Road the path is very thin and
motorists of all ages, mainly 40+ speed up and down this road and
there is no protection between pedestrian and motor vehicle, even
if at 20mph there is a blow out.
Many motorists speed up and down Bradford Road with little regard
for other road users.
At the junction of Coronation Street & Wrenthorpe Road, pedestrians
put their lives in their hands when crossing. Cars appear out of
nowhere and have very little regard for pedestrians and just turn
in ignoring those on foot.
Yours faithfully,
Mark Charlesworth
