Road Gritting in St Georges Walk Area

Paul Fleming made this Freedom of Information request to Harrogate Borough Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Harrogate Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Harrogate Borough Council,

Please could you advise why the streets in the St Georges Walk area
are not gritted during prolonged spells of icy weather.

I note that even some footpaths (eg. the footpaths on BOTH sides of
Otley Road on Harlow Hill) have been gritted. But St Georges Walk
is still treacherously slippery and after 2 weeks of bad weather
have not been gritted once.

The same situation occured during February 2009 when streets
remained icy for over a week.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Fleming

PS. I am using this website to make this enquiry as it appears the
Harrogate Borough Council website is not working.
