Dear Mr Hutton

This email follows the telephone call you made to one of my colleagues
this morning about your recent Freedom of Information request concerning
Common Purpose and Commodore Ian Jess. The request was originally being
handled by Andrew Parrish but I took the case over from him and emailed
you a substantive response on 28 May 2010. Following this morning's call,
I did a check and realised that I had used an incorrect email address
which would explain why you have not yet received the response. Please
accept my apologies for this error and I am now re-sending the request. I
would be grateful if you could respond to indicate that you have received
it.

I would have returned your phone call to explain but your email address is
the only means we have of communicating with you.

Once again, please accept my apologies.

Dear Mr Hutton

Thank you for your request dated 12 April 2010. I apologise for the delay
in responding to your request, which follows:

Please disclose E-Mails between HR Director Richard Hatfield and Common
Purpose during the last year.

Richard Hatfield left the MOD before the period to which this FOI request
refers. A search has been carried out on the Director General Human
Resources and Corporate Services (previously Personnel Director) databases
and it has been confirmed that there is no correspondence between that
office and Common Purpose.

If you are not satisfied with this response or you wish to complain about
any aspect of the handling of your request, then you should contact me in
the first instance. If informal resolution is not possible and you are
still dissatisfied then you may apply for an independent internal review
by contacting the Head of Corporate Information, 6th Floor, MOD Main
Building, Whitehall, SW1A 2HB (e-mail [email address]). Please note that
any request for an internal review must be made within 40 working days of
the date on which the attempt to reach informal resolution has come to an
end.

If you remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you may take your
complaint to the Information Commissioner under the provisions of Section
50 of the Freedom of Information Act. Please note that the Information
Commissioner will not investigate your case until the MOD internal review
process has been completed. Further details of the role and powers of the
Information Commissioner can be found on the Commissioner's website,
http://www.ico.gov.uk.

Kind Regards

Jo
