Dear Sarah Waterfield,
Thank you for letting me know that only 6.5% of the land surface of
England is accessible to its citizens.
This may be an even more paltry proportion than immediately
appears, as this 6.5% obviously includes common land which was
already accessible before the Countryside and Rights of Way Act was
passed. I therefore formally request now to be informed what
percentage of the land surface of England was publicly accessible
before that Act came into force.
