Responsibilty for Trade?

david schiller made this Freedom of Information request to Cabinet Office

The request was successful.

From: david schiller

16 December 2009

Dear Cabinet Office,
There is evidence to suggest that representatives of the UK and
Spanish governments had discussions regarding mutually advantageous
business arrangements towards the end of the 1980's
Of course that was some time before the present government came to
power - If it is not the Cabinet Office who may hold relevant
information it may be that you could direct me to the correct dept
(Home Office or FCO?)
If your Office does hold any relevant information required to be
disclosed under the terms of the FOIA I would be obliged for
confirmation

Sincerely, David Schiller

Cabinet Office

4 January 2010

Dear Mr Schiller,

I apologise for the delay in getting back to you.

I have spoken to colleagues in the Cabinet Office and I understand the
Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) may be better placed
to answer your request. They have policy lead for Trade issues, and
therefore, I believe more likely to hold the information you are
requesting. Please see below link for their contact details;

http://www.berr.gov.uk/administration/fo...

You need to make your request direct to them as they are a separate
public authority under the Freedom of Information Act.

Please get back to the Cabinet Office if you have any further queries,
or you would like us to take your request forward. I propose to take no
further action unless I hear back from you.

Kind regards,

Yasmine Edwards
