Dear Sir or Madam,
According to a letter in the Eskdale & Liddesdale Advertiser police
responded to a phone call concerning a pillow case on the wrong
part of a shared washing line
(http://www.eladvertiser.co.uk/opinion/le... accessed
11:50 on 18th Oct 2008)
1) I wish to know what the general policy of D&G Police is with
regards to disagreements between neighbours where there has been no
threat made of violence, racism, abusive language etc.
2) I wish to know how many times in the past year a next door
neighbour has been visited by D&G police for something which under
normal circumstances should be settled between neighbours.
3) I wish to know whether charges of wasting police time have been
brought against any member of the public in the past year for
contacting D&G police, if so what were the circumstances. This need
not be broken down to individual cases but may be by numbers of
each type of incident eg total number of people charged with
reference to hoax calls.
Yours faithfully,
K Morrison
