Dear Sir or Madam,

Can you please tell me if any research has ever been conducted or
commissioned relating to the Council's web site? (For example, what
the public would like to see on it, how usable it is, etc.) This
should not include wide-ranging eternal studies that survey many
council sites at once, if not directly requested by the Council,
but solely research that the Council itself has carried out or
directly authorised. This should include any research carried out
amongst staff or council members, and even informal or ad hoc
research (such as collating comments made) should be included.

If any such research has been performed, I would request electronic
copies of any final reports and/or presentations produced, along
with details of when the report was produced, by whom, and at what
cost.

First of all please accept my apologies for not responding sooner.

To answer your question - no we haven't conducted any research as to
what the general public would like to see on our website - not to my
knowledge anyway. Our website is currently under construction, with all
departments being asked to update their respective data.

The Freedom of Information section. I am behind with that too. I depend
on Directors/Managers feeding back to me the docs they have available,
and this is a timely process. I need to look at revising the Council's
Publication Scheme as the current schemes expire on 31 December 2008.

I will forward your email to the Council's Director of Finance (whose
remit is IT and Information Management to gage his views.

Hi there Colin

With one of the IT Officers being on leave and the other covering for
councillors and staff, staffing has been a bit thin on the ground.
However, having spoken to the Director he informs me that what I have
already said has been confirmed as being correct.
