Dear Mr Kloot
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST REF No: 269481
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request received on 18 July.
You requested the following information:
Please supply copies of documents produced by consultants for Islington
Council where the value of the contract has been specified for
development of the former Crouch Hill Recreation Site, London N8
(proposed site of the new Ashmount school)
I have consulted the Building Schools for the Future team and can
provide the following response.
If we are successful in obtaining planning permission in September we
will commence a competitive procurement exercise. To release estimates
of the value of the contract at this stage would be detrimental to the
commercial interests of the council and we are exempting this
information under Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act,
'Commercial interests'.
Please contact me if you would like to make another request for
information.
If you have a complaint about the handling of your enquiry then please
contact Jeremy Tuck, Chief Information Officer at 60 Highbury New Park,
London N5 2DJ. Alternatively please email: [Islington Borough Council request email].
Further information is also available from the Information Commissioner
at:

Simon Kloot left an annotation (17 August 2009)
"In the original response the Council also incorrectly engaged Section 43 of the Act as a blanket mechanism and should not have referred to trade Secrets (section 43(1) Freedom of Information Act), which are not relevant to a property development."
Therefore, please supply the information requested.
