Dear Mr Elibank,

Thank-you for your request for copies of three Acts of Parliament.

Acts of Parliament are published and sets of Acts can be found in large reference libraries across the UK. As such, requests for Acts of Parliament are exempt under the section 21 of the Freedom of Information, information accessible by other means. As guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office explains "the thinking behind the exemption is that if there is another route by which someone can obtain information, there is no need for the Act to provide the means of access." If you wish to provide an indication of your location I may be able to provide details of the libraries closest to you.

You are welcome to visit the Parliamentary Archives and look at the Acts in our public searchroom. Please contact us in advance to make an appointment. Alternatively, we can provide copies of Acts of Parliament outside the framework of the Freedom of Information Act. We charge for photocopies at 35 pence per sheet plus postage, or electronic copies on CD at £3 per scan plus £4 to cover the cost of CD and postage.

Yours sincerely,
Mari Takayanagi (Ms)
Archivist
