Dear Syed Faghurudeen
Thank you for your e mails dated 01/04/2009 concerning the above
matter.
Your initial enquiry is a general enquiry, not an FOI request, as
you are asking about the status of your application. In addition,
any information would subsequently be published on the website and
so it is not appropriate for enquiries of a personal nature.
You should therefore direct your enquiries to the Immigration
Enquiry Bureau (IEB) and I have enclosed the details for your
reference. Further information can be found on the UKBA website.

Dear Mr Faghurudeen,
Thank you for your e-mail. At the moment there is no action we can
take against either organisation for the following reasons:
In your request to the FCO you are clearly asking for a review of
why your claim for British nationality was rejected. This is not a
valid request under the Freedom of Information Act. As I have
previously explained, FoI is not the correct route for enquiries or
complaints about matters directly relating to yourself, as any
personal information requested under this Act would be
automatically exempt.
On 14 May 2009 you wrote to the FCO stating “Now I request to
reveal the reason for
refuse my application under what section and how and why.” This
should be recognised as a Subject Access Request under the Data
Protection Act 1998. However, as this request was only made a few
days ago you will need to wait until 23 June 2009. If they have not
replied by this time then you can complain to us again.
As there is currently nothing that this office can do, your case
will remain closed.
Yours sincerely,
