Dear Mr Faghurudeen,

Thank you for your email.

The Freedom of Information Act provides the requestor with an access
right to recorded information held by the public authority. I have
checked with colleagues in the Cabinet Office and I believe the Home
Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office are better placed to deal
with your query. The Home Office is the government department
responsible for Immigration and Nationality issues, and therefore, more
likely to be in a position to help you. The contact links for the Home
Office can be found at the links below;

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/contact-us

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/

It is also possible that the FCO holds information relevant to your
request. You may wish to submit your request to them at the following
link;

http://foi.fco.gov.uk/en/

You need to approach them direct as they are both separate public
authorities under the freedom of Information Act.

Please get in touch if you have further queries but, as I have already
said, the Home Office and FCO are more likely to hold any relevant
information regarding your request.

Kind regards,

Yasmine Edwards

Dear Mr Faghurudeen,

In response to your email below, the Cabinet Office is very unlikely to
hold the information you are looking for. The Freedom of Information Act
gives the applicant an access right to recorded information held by the
public authority. The information you are seeking is more likely to be
held by the Home Office and the FCO.

I have attached below a link for the Cabinet Office website to give you
a better understanding of the functions of the Cabinet Office. If you
can clarify for us whom you think in the Cabinet Office would hold the
information you are seeking then I will be happy to take your case
forward.

I propose to take no further action unless I hear back from you.

Kind regards,

Yasmine Edwards

Dear Mr Faghurudeen,

You state in your email that FCO holds the information you are looking
for. I am not sure if you are aware that you have emailed the Cabinet
Office FOI Team instead of the FCO. I suggest you get in touch with the
FCO FOI team at the following link;

I hope this is helpful.
