Dear Raymond Lee,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information email request:
I would like to know if any conditions were placed on the property at 1
Brunswick Hill, Reading in regard to being issued residents parking
permits for that area. In particular if a condition was made that no
parking permits would be issued for anyone resident at that address.
Planning have received two applications for the property,
89/00409/FUL
and 04/00628/FUL.
Application 89/00409/FUL for 'CONVERSION OF HOUSE INTO FOUR
SELF-CONTAINED FLATS' was Permitted on 18.05.1989.
Application 04/00628/FUL for 'Convert single dwelling into 8
self contained flats (comprising 5 no.1 bed and 3 no.2 bed units) and 3
storey side extension, with associated on-site car parking and amenity
space.' was Refused on 22.09.2004 but subsequent appeal was 'Allowed' on
13.05.2005.
Therefore, I have attached both Decisions for your perusal and
hence the conditions included provide the information for your request.

under the Freedom of Information Act then you may ask for an internal

in writing to Mr C Brooks, Head of Legal Services, at Reading Borough
Council. If you request such a review and are not content with its

Ben Harris left an annotation (28 January 2010)

In Cambridge, this kind of restriction is imposed though the traffic regulation order that sets up the residents' parking scheme. In essence, it provides that only residents of buildings put up before some cut-off date are eligible for residents' permits. It may be that Reading's scheme works the same way.

Dear Malcolm Booker

many thanks for reply but on reading the documents I can see no
reference to parking.

The question I suppose I have is whether the residents of 1
Brunswick Hill, which is now 8 flats with parking provided on site
and is gated, are entitled to be issued with resident parking
permits relevant to their area.

Yours sincerely,

Raymond Lee
