Dear Mr Starky
Thank you for your e-mail of 1 April, addressed to the Department for
Innovation, Universities and Skills' (DIUS) Information mailbox, about a
Freedom of Information Act request on Job Advertisements. On this
occasion I have been asked to reply.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding to your request for
information. You requested to know the number of job vacancies currently
advertised within our department on 01/04/09 broken down into those
advertised internally and those advertised externally.

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please see information below:

On 1 April 2009, there were nine posts advertised on the DIUS
website. Eight posts were advertised internally and only one was
advertised externally.

The information supplied to you is protected by the Copyright, Designs and
Patents Act 1988. Any documents produced by government officials will be
covered by Crown Copyright. You are free to use the information for your
own purposes, including any non-commercial research you are doing and for
the purposes of news reporting. Any other reuse, for example commercial
