Repsonses to "Policy options for geographic information from Ordnance Survey Consultation" for 1:25000 and 1:50000 raster mapping
Paul Hollinghurst made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Communities and Local Government
The request was successful.
From: Paul Hollinghurst
5 May 2010
Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,
The government recently decided that the existing 1:25000 and
1:50000 Ordnance Survey raster mapping would not be released for
free as described in "Policy options for geographic information
from Ordnance Survey – Consultation: Government Response' (March
2010).
This decision was based on the responses to the 12 consultation
questions in Appendix A of the "Policy options for geographic
information from Ordnance Survey Consultation" (December 2009).
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 please could you provide
me with the responses you received which relate to the 1:25000 and
1:50000 mapping for any of the 12 consultation questions, and for
each response the name of the organisation which supplied it.
Thank you for your help,
Yours faithfully,
Paul Hollinghurst

Dear Patricia Wapples,
Thank you again for sending all this information containing the
responses for "Policy options for geographic information from
Ordnance Survey Consultation". You asked whether I had everything I
need; I do have everything I wanted for this request. However I
have another request for any meeting minutes relating to the
decision to exclude 1:25000 and 1:50000 Ordnance Survey raster
mapping from the free data sets and would also be interested to see
these. I assume this request will also have been sent to you. Have
you seen it?
In fact, having looked at the information you have sent so far has
given me a good understanding of how the decision was reached, but
if there are any relevant minutes which you can obtain I would
still also be grateful for these.
Best regards,
Paul Hollinghurst
