Removal to care Demographics

James Moore made this Freedom of Information request to Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service

Waiting for an internal review by Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service of their handling of this request.

From: James Moore

6 October 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

This is a twofold request.
I would like a breakdown of how many children with disabilities,
for example Down's Syndrome, paraplegia, quadriplegia, brittle bone
disease, haemophilia, ASD, deaf, deaf/mute, blind,
chemically-induced physical deformities, congenital physical
deformities, and any other problem likely to require specialist
care and/or treatment, have ben removed from their natural parents
by court order due to a risk of emotional harm, along with the
total number of children removed due to the same perceived risk
during the fiscal years 2006/7, 2007/8 and 2008/9, and the total
cost across all unitary authorities of bringing cases against their
families for each of those fiscal years.

I woulds also like, in layman's terms and in legal terms, a legal
definition of "risk of emotional harm".

Yours faithfully,

James Moore

hang on, the reply states that the information is not held by the ministry of justice, is this not the place where decisions are made on a daily basis concerning the disposition of children and their subsequent removal from the care of their natural families!? HOW can you people claim NOT TO HOLD SUCH INFORMATION!?
