The phrase "simply refuse to investigate" has its natural meaning
in the English language.
E.G. where a complaint of crime is made to the Police, with full
supporting evidence of the crime having taken place, and the Police
refuse to investigate that criminal complaint.
I am not sure how I can explain the question in any more simple
terms?

Dear Freedom of Information Team,
From personal knowledge, it is my opinion that your response is
quite simply untrue and therefore I seek an Internal Review.
Since you have made reference specifically to my case in your
response, I shall do so too:
North Wales Police have been provided with exactly the evidence
that D.I. Robert Halford stated was required to take my case
forward, but yet NWP still refuse to investigate.
Therefore this is as least one case that North Wales Police have
decided to "screen out", as you call it.
Whilst you are conducting your internal review, all of the evidence
provided to North Wales Police that proves crimes committed against
me in the above referenced case will be published.
It is important for the Public to see for themselves that North
Wales Police refuse to investigate crimes despite being provided
with irrefutable evidence.
I note your attempts to publicly accuse me of being vexatious.

This is interesting, keep going sieve until you get an answer, unfortunately you are asking for an internal review, i think you could be in for a long long long long long long wait. anyway take a look at my request on peodophiles in anglesey, so far i am really concerned at the police's answers so far.
Steve Hunt left an annotation (23 July 2009)
Hi Lisa, I see you had difficulty getting the Police to understand the simplest of English language terms too... in my case they couldn't understand the 4-word phrase "simply refuse to investigate" - I see in your case they do not understand what the word "figures" means... and they wonder why public confidence in North Wales Police is so low???

whatever answer i get or we get from the police, it would be interesting to see what type of answer we would get if we were to print out our questions and answers and send it to the papers or number 10 downing street.
steve is there a website for pcso's, i mean we might get somewhere with them, i just want to know the figures of peodophiles in anglesey and in asking the police that question has made north wales police comit a criminal offense.
lisa left an annotation (24 July 2009)
steve, remember the mp expenses and how they blacked out almost everything so you couldnt make any sense of it, same thing here i think.
the police are making out they do not understand plain english and im not asking for names or addresses if i did the police would use the data protection act as a defence.
lets see where we get and if we get nowhere i think sky news would be interested, dont you think.
Steve Hunt left an annotation (24 July 2009)
Lisa, My MP David Jones is being kept in the loop with all my problems with Conwy County Borough Council (who have broken many laws as has already been proven by successful Court action I have taken against them). Interestingly, Mr Jones is one of the few MP's NOT embroiled in the expenses saga! I suggest strongly you get in touch and go and see your MP and see if/how they can help.
I can see nothing wrong with your request at all, it is a perfectly straight-forward question for which there should be a simple answer along the lines of "There are XX registered paedophiles living on Anglesey"... You have made it quite clear you are not asking for their names or addresses, just the quantity. It is quite clear to any person reading that the Police are deliberately trying to find ways of not answering the simple question by trying to use the excuse you are asking for things you are clearly not! - what an utter farce.
I wonder what the reason could be they don't want to say? - perhaps there are a lot more than people realise? - perhaps they use Anglesey as "safe houses" for these people when they come out of Jail etc.? ... who knows, there must be some reason they do not want the public to know the truth, or why make such an effort to hide it?
I agree national media attention is needed - the local media is heavily under the influence of shall we say "interested parties" - and anything controversial against the "establishment" simply won't get reported.
lisa left an annotation (24 July 2009)
yes i think you could be right steve, the police are possibly hiding the fact that anglesey is a haven for peodophiles, very very worrying isnt it.
the council, the establishment all can break the law anytime they wish, my councillor goronwy parry is no good whatsoever, i would rather ask for help from a dead relative of mine via a prayer.

Dear Griffiths, Merfyn (Insp 504),
The original response to my request IS QUITE SIMPLY A LIE.
North Wales Police HAVE REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE CRIMES, I have full
documentary evidence right here in front of me - so why have you
stated on public record that this is not the case?
Yours sincerely,

Perhaps Mr. Hunt, is requesting for statistics relating to complaints that are made, but are not investigated further due to any but not limited to the following reasons (i) the person complained off is a public figure (ii) the crime is in a high crime area which is found undesirable to use resources on (iii) the complainant does not seem truthful (iv) Lack of jurisdiction (v)lack of enough manpower....
Is this the correct position?
