Dear Ms Quinn
This is in response to your Freedom Of Information Request below. Please
accept my apologies for the delay in responding.
We have searched our entire document base for documents pertaining
specifically to the recruitment and selection of Social Workers, but
haven't been able to find anything specifically for this vacancy type. I
have therefore provided copies of all of our electronic corporate
recruitment and selection guidance that our managers have access to.
Regarding job adverts and closing dates, please see the attached
"Recruitment Advertising Timetable" document. We advertise vacancies on
our internal (Intranet) website, on our external internet website, on
the "Jobs Go Public" website, at the Job Centre and also have paper
copies available in our Libraries and other community facilities. Areas
of the Council can also pay to advertise their vacancy elsewhere, eg
newspapers, professional journals etc, where this is required on an
individual basis.
Also attached is the Recruitment & Selection section from our "Managing
Human Resources - A Brief Guide" document. This gives brief guidance on
the recruitment process for managers to follow.
The only other recruitment and selection document that we have is
unfortunately one that cannot be provided electronically. This is the
"Code of Practice for Bradford Managers for Recruitment & Selection"
which is a printed portfolio document that all managers hold
individually, but as it is a very large old document which is in the
process of being reviewed and updated, it has never been transferred to
an electronic version. If you could please email me with a postal
address I would be happy to send you a photocopy of this document.

If you are not satisfied with this reply you may ask for a review of
this decision by contacting [Bradford City Council request email] or by writing to Freedom
of Information, Bradford Metropolitan District Council, 2nd Floor, City
Exchange, 61 Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 5SG.

If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of the internal review
you have the right of appeal to the Information Commissioner who can be
contacted at:
