I understand that in the 24 hour period ending midday Monday 18
August 2008, one Newark-based recovery service recovered three
vehicles which had left the A617 Mansfield-Newark road between its
junctions with the A612 road and the unclassified road to Averham
Park.
What roadworks, if any, had been undertaken in this area in the
seven day period ending midday Monday 18 August 2008?
What warning signs, if any, had been placed in the area during this
period?
What remedial action, if any, has been taken?

A617 near Averham. In order to respond to your questions, I have passed
your request on to the County Council's Highways North Team based in
Ollerton.
Your request is being considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
and you will receive the information requested within the statutory
timescale of 20 working days subject to the information not being exempt
or containing a reference to a third party.
For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions which may
prevent release of the information. There will be an assessment of the
information you have requested and if an exemption applies the information
will not be released. We will inform you if this is the case, including
your rights of appeal.

Dear Sir / Madam
I am writing in regard to your request for information concerning
roadworks on the A617 near its junction with the A612 (Averham) on
18/08/08.
I have contacted the County Councils Highways North Division and they have
checked their records for information relevant to your request.
Unfortunately they have checked their files and can find no records of any
roadworks on the length of road specified between the 11/08/08 and
18/08/08.
I am sorry I am not able to provide you with any information in this
instance. Please contact me if you require any further information in
relation to Freedom of Information.
