Dear Ms Griffiths.

Thank you for your request of 5 March 2010 under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for information about the Data Protection Act

We are able to respond as follows.

1) The Metropolitan Police Authority has not received any DPA requests to date for 2010. In 2009 we received 4 requests and none were received for the years 2008-2005.

2) All requests were internal and their identity known to us with the exception of one, who we wrote to and asked the individual to provide documentation to confirm their identity.

3) The Authority receive very few DPA requests. However, we keep a record of all correspondence related to DPA requests and records of decisions and copies of information sent to the applicant.

4) We do not maintain a schedule of errors in information covered by the DPA.

I hope this response answers your questions.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint about any of the above decisions you may contact me to arrange for an officer who has not had any involvement with this request to review our decision. If you are still unhappy after that, a further request can be made to the Information Commissioner, who will decide whether the request was dealt with in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. Further information is available on the Information Commissioner's website: www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk.
