Care Quality Commission
21 May 2010
Dear Ms Griffiths,
The Commission has started to process a search for information in respect of Questions 1-3 of your request, dated 21 May 2010. As stated in my acknowledgement email of the same day, you can expect to receive a response in relation to these questions by 18 June 2010.
However, please be advised that section 1(3)(a) of the FOI Act, applies where a public authority reasonably requires further information in order to identify and locate the information requested. It is unclear from Question 4 of your original request, whether you are looking for reports on data quality of personal data that we store? If so, we do not hold that information; we do not keep clinical or care records so do not perform data quality audits and checks in the same way as an NHS organisation, local authority or care provider might. Plese clarify whether this is the information that you are searching for. This is compliant with s 1(3)(b) which requires the applicant to be informed that clarification is needed before a response to their request will be generated.
Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.
Kind Regards,
Rebecca Turner
