FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 1768/2008

I write in connection with your request for information dated 5 October
2008. I note you seek access to the following information:

· Please provide information breakdown on arrests of whites and
non-white individuals on charges of racism

To enable Greater Manchester Police to meet your request could you please
provide this office with further information. I provide some guidance
that may assist you more clearly to describe the information you require:

Please state the time period you require the information for, i.e last 12
months etc. Also, state the areas of GMP you require the information for,
i.e. whole of GMP area or specific divisions/areas.

After receiving your reply, your request will then be considered and you
will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of
20 working days as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject
to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third
party.

However, if the requested additional information has not been received by
17th October 2008 I will assume you no longer wish to proceed with this
request and will treat it as withdrawn.

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you choose not to make a payment then your request will
remain unanswered.

Should you have any further queries concerning this matter, please write
the Freedom of Information Team on 0161-856-2529 quoting the reference
number above.
