James Glen made this Freedom of Information request to Fife Council

The request was successful.

From: James Glen

8 February 2010

Dear Fife Council,

Please can you supply me with details of all Public Consultations
conducted for the proposed planning of a small store at Hall Street
(Application Ref: 09/01361/WOPP).

I am specifically interested in the number of people that were
consulted and by what method (ie- written consultations, public
meetings, etc.)?

If these were written consultations please supply me with the
number of replies received, and what percentage of replies were in
favour and what percentage of replies objected.

Also, if the consultations were via a public meeting, please supply
me with time, date and location of the meeting(s), and also if
known, the numbers in attendance, and what percentage of people
were in favour, and what percentage of people objected or against.

Yours faithfully,

James Glen

I've asked FC to confirm they have received my FOI request, as FC usually reply very quickly with a response, that they have received the FOI request. In this case it hasn't happened, so I am just making sure they have received my request.

If anyone is wondering why this specific request you can view the background history here and connected pages: http://lochgelly.org.uk/?page_id=702

Dear Mr Glen,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
RELATING TO PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS FOR PLANNING APPLICATION
09/01361/WOPP

I refer to your letter request for information received by Fife
Council on the 8th February 2010, our ref: 537.

I am pleased to enclose a list of neighbours who were notified by
the Council, these were selected on the basis that their properties
are within 20 metres of the application site. The objections are
all available to view on-line at www.fife.gov.uk/planning. In
total, 33 letters were received.

The Council did not organise a public meeting as this is not
required by legislation, however the application is being
considered at the Cowdenbeath Area Committee on 3rd March 2010.

I hope that this response meets your requirements.

If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your request,
you have the right to request a review of the decision. Please
write to: Chief Legal Officer, Legal Services, Performance &
Organisational Support, Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes, KY7
5LT, or e-mail to [email address] within 3 calendar months
of receipt of our decision. If this fails to resolve the matter to
your complete satisfaction, you have the right to apply to the
Scottish Information Commissioner for a decision.

Yours sincerely,

Monica Kellock Planner (Development Promotion & Design)

Dear Karen Berry & Monica Kellock

Thank you for your reply, however the web address you provided me
is wrong, and I believe the correct address is:
http://planning.fife.gov.uk/online/appli...,
also there is a discrepancy in your figures, you stated 33
objections were received, yet the website says 32, can this please
be confirmed.

Your e-mail states "I am pleased to enclose a list of neighbours
who were notified by the Council, these were selected on the basis
that their properties
are within 20 metres of the application site." yet their is no list
mentioned in the e-mail or attached as a file, can you please
confirm this as well.

Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

James Glen

I've received all the information that was requested. There was a very small discrepancy in the numbers given by 1 which could be a simple error, but they are looking into it, and will give me an update.

I wasn't actually expecting a reply until the 15th of March, so I am happy that I received this reply early, especially since this request was part of a campaign by the Lochgelly Community Regeneration Forum and lochgelly.org.uk which will be concluded Tomorrow at the Cowdenbeath Area Committee.

Hi Karen,

I've resolved the discrepancy in the figures so I will not need a
reply. The website shows 32 objections but isn't showing the latest
objection from the Community Council. This objection was mentioned
at the Cowdenbeath Area Committee who also confirmed the numbers of
33 objections.

Once again thank you for your time and quick response, as far as I
am concerned, the request is closed and successful (ie - all
information provided)

Thanks again

Kind Regards - James Glen
