Protester database

Lee Rowland made this Freedom of Information request to Metropolitan Police Service (MPS)

Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) did not have the information requested.

From: Lee Rowland

23 December 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

Can you confirm or deny the existence of a database made up of the
personal details of people who have been selected on the basis of
taking part in protest rather than committing of any crime.

Who is responsible for the creation and maintenance of this
database?

What is the role of the Forward Intelligence Team in relation to
this database?

Yours faithfully,

Lee Rowland

No surprise that the Met has failed to abide by the legal time limit. ALL my FOIs to the met have come back weeks, if not months late. Will the information commissioner actually DO something about these vexatious public authorities who waste all our time?

I forwarded to his office all the examples of public bodies failing to adhere to the law some months ago. Action would be taken, I was told. I've yet to see any.
