1. How you procure Construction Consultancy Services
2. How you procure Construction Contractors
3. If by your own framework, please tell me:
a. The titles and content of the relevant frameworks
b. Who is on the current frameworks
c. The start and end dates of the frameworks
d. Any possible extention periods to the frameworks
e. The name and contact email of person responsible for the
frameworks.

Dear Mr Griffiths,
I acknowledge your request (Ref: FoIR100420-576) for information which
we received recently.
Your request is being considered and you will receive the information
requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined
by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to the information not
being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.
For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions which may
prevent release of the information you have requested. There will be an
assessment and if any of the exemption categories apply then the
information will not be released. You will be informed if this is the
case, including your rights of appeal.
If the information you request contains reference to a third party then
they may be consulted prior to a decision being taken on whether or not
to release the information to you. You will be informed if this is the
case.
There may a fee payable for this information. This will be considered
and you will be informed if a fee is payable. In this event the fee must
be paid before the information is processed and released. The 20 working
day time limit for responses is suspended until receipt of the payment.
Subject to any delays permitted under the act and mentioned above, the
information will be sent to you not later than 19 May 2010.

Dear Mr Griffiths,
Your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 has been considered. The information you require is as follows:
1. How you procure Construction Consultancy Services
There is currently no framwork for the procurement of Construction Consultancy Services. Please contact David Sims for further information.
2. How you procure Construction Contractors
The University operates a Construction Framework Agreement for construction works ranging in value from £2000 to £3,500,000 (exl VAT). This is a select list of Contractors who have been chosen to undertake construction works at the University.
The list was compiled through the OJEU process which commenced in 2008. The framework consists of five different categories as follows:
General Construction
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering Services
Electrical Engineering Services
Asbestos Abatement
Each construction project undertaken by the University and falling within the above price range is mini-tendered using names takem from the select list.
3. If by your own framework, please tell me:
a. The titles and content of the relevant frameworks
The framework iss titled the University of Salford Construction Framework. See 2 for categories of works.
b. Who is on the current frameworks
See attached list
c. The start and end dates of the frameworks
The framework commenced in September 2009 and runs until September 2011.
d. Any possible extention periods to the frameworks
There is a possibility of two, one year extensions to the Framework
e. The name and contact email of person responsible for the frameworks.
