UK identity card that is returned to you as lost property.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Home Office,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of the Home Office's
handling of my FOI request 'Procedures for handling UK identity
cards handed in as lost property'.
I asked:
1. What guidance the Home Office has given Manchester-area police
forces for procedures for handling a UK identity card that is
handed in as lost property.
2. What procedures the Home Office has put in place for handling a
UK identity card that is returned to you as lost property.
Thank you for your answer to question 2 ("... should a recovered
card be returned to IPS by a third party, the card is cancelled a
securely destroyed. A record of the cancelled card is retained on
the system and details are provided to border agencies.").
However, you have not answered question 1. While it may be
interesting to know that "handling guidance ... will be issued to
all police authorities in due course", I asked what guidance you
have already given to Manchester-area police forces. Please answer
the question that I asked.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
