phil made this Freedom of Information request to University of Southampton

The request was successful.

From: phil

10 September 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to request, under the Freedom of Information Act, the
total amount received by the purchase of printer credit at the
University of Southampton for the academic years 2006/7, 2007/08
and 2008/09.

I would also like to request the number of printer credits
purchased during these academic years.

I am requesting the information to be presented in standard ASCII
plain text format as detailed in Section 11 of the FOI act which
allows the requester to state a preference for communication "in
another form acceptable to the applicant".

The public authority must do so if it is "reasonably practicable".

Yours faithfully,

Phil

Dear Mr Clarke,

We refer to your Freedom of Information request dated 10 September 2009[FN1].

Your request is substantially the same as another request[FN2] made via and published on WhatDoTheyKnow.com.

The University’s response to that request is publicly available, both in PDF format[FN3] and transcribed by a volunteer in plain-text format[FN4].

The information you require is available to you as outlined above, and the University prays in aid the exemption available under section 21[FN5] of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

If you are not satisfied with the way in which the University has dealt with your request or with the reasons the University has given for refusing to provide information, you have the right to appeal. Questions, comments or complaints should be sent to the Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, University of Southampton, Highfield, Southampton SO17 1BJ, United Kingdom.

The Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcing rights of access to information and the operation of the publication scheme. You may appeal to the Information Commissioner in writing (FOI/EIR Complaints Resolution, Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF) or electronically[FN6]. The Information Commissioner will not normally take action unless he is satisfied that the University's appeal procedures have been exhausted.

Yours sincerely,
