FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Please find below the information you requested on 11 July 2009.

I would like to request, under the Freedom of Information Act, the
total amount received by the purchase of printer credit at Durham
University for the academic years 2006/7, 2007/08 and 2008/09. I
would also like to request the number of printer credits purchased
during these academic years.

The Information Technology Service Department (ITS) operate the system for
purchase and use of printer credits. More information about use and
charging can be found at [1]http://www.dur.ac.uk/its/printing/.

You requested information relating to the academic years 2006/7, 2007/8
and 2008/9. The ITS department only has information through June 2009 as
the current academic year had not ended at the time of your request.

The total number of printer credits purchased in each of the academic
years is listed below. The numbers below will not reflect refund claims
for unused printer credits or refunds for jobs that were printed or
charged incorrectly due to system problems. The figure for total amount
received is based on printer credits purchased multiplied by the price per
credit purchased (4 pence).

Academic Year 2006/2007 (October-July)

Printer Credits Purchased:

5,664,209 (£226,568.36)

Academic Year 2007/2008 (August-July)

Printer Credits Purchased:

5,208,778 (£208,351.12)

Academic Year 2008/2009 (August-June)

Printer Credits Purchased:

4,994,498 (£199,779.92)
