Dear Mr Richardson,

Thank you for your FOI request dated 11 July, received here 13 July
2009. This has now been passed to the relevant department for consideration.

The University of Sheffield always endeavours to respond to requests as
soon as is practicable, but as you are probably aware, the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 does allow 20 working days for reply. In this case,
that will be by Monday 10 August 2009.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Forrester,
FOI Compliance Manager.

Dear Mr Richardson,

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information request of 11
July 2009.

The University of Sheffield does not run a printer credit system as
such, hence we are unable to supply the number of printer credits
purchased as requested. However, we do make printing available to
students via an electronic card system. The income for the last three
years is shown below, but I should point out that at Sheffield the card
is used for both printing and photocopying. Unfortunately, there is no
way of separating out just the printing element from the total figures
given, nor do we know what proportion of the figures given is for
printing rather than photocopying services.

2006/07 £317,010.52
2007/08 £330,791.76
2008/09 £323,088.37

I trust this answers your query so far as we are able, but I am required
under the Freedom of Information Act to inform you that if you have
cause for genuine complaint regarding the way your request for
information has been handled under the provisions of the Act, you should
write to the FOI Unit, University of Sheffield, 285 Glossop Road,
Sheffield S10 2HB or email [University of Sheffield request email] explaining why you are
not satisfied with the result.

Your complaint will then be the subject of a full Administrative Review
by the FOI Unit followed, if appropriate, by referral to the Complaints
Panel of the University FOI Group for further consideration. If you
still remain unsatisfied with the University's decision, you will be
entitled to complain to The Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Forrester,
FOI Compliance Manager.
