I refer to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and to your e-mail to this department/office dated 7 March 2010.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, we have formally decided to grant access to the records requested and accordingly they are as follows:
Please advise me since 1st February 2010
(a) how many pot holes have been filled,
From the 1st Feb to 16th March (32 days) the total number of repairs carried out was approximately 11,520
(b) how much money has been spent on pot hole repairs,
We are currently spending over £37,500 each week. This approximates to £240,000 spent so far.
(c) the average number of pot holes repairs per day being made by the council
We are completing approximately 360 every day
(d) the estimated number of pot holes requiring repair.
We have no information on this matter as the highway defects are constantly appearing due to the underlying ground conditions and damage to the structure of the bituminous material.

Dear informationrights,
thank you for your prompt reply
do you not think that the contractor who first layed the roads
should be responsable for the repairs as it is down to bad
workmanship that the potholes have arisen and should not be put
onto the burden of the tax payer who has already payed once for a
supposed good road
Sincerely and without ill will, vexation or frivolity,
