Dear Sir/Madam,
Please treat this as a request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.
May I ask for all information you happen to have on the subject of
the Post Office Investigation Branch and the Post Office Security
Investigation Services, particularly with reference to their
policing and/or investigative powers, their numbers of staff,
history, interactions with the government, and so on.
They are afforded some powers by the "Regulation of Investigatory
Powers (Communications Data) (Additional Functions and Amendment)
Order 2006" so I assume that you do indeed hold information on
them. If the information is, in fact, held by another government
department, please let me know which it is as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Steve Elibank
