I am writing in response to your email received by Post Office Limited on
16 March 2010 in relation to branch closures in the London Borough of
Bexley, which I am dealing with under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. (the Act)

In your email you have requested the following information;

“…the addresses of all the Post Offices closed in the London Borough of
Bexley since 2001.”

I have taken your request to relate to permanently Post Office® closures,
and I can confirm that Post Office Limited does hold some of the
information you have requested. I am happy to provide you with information
on branch closures in the London Borough of Bexley from 2003-2010,
including information recorded for the purposes of the Network Change
Programme (NCP), and the earlier Network Reinvention Programme (NRP).
However I can only provide the name of the branch and the branch postcode
for the NRP due to the way the information is recorded.

Unfortunately we do not hold information about branch closures previous to
2003. The reporting systems used for the Post Office® branch network
records the current trading position of our branches, as this is the
information we need to manage the business on a day to day basis, therefore
some of the precise historic information you have requested is not held in
the format you have requested, unless contained within a specific programme
as detailed above.

Please find in the table below showing the 18 closures in the London
Borough of Bexley from 2003-2010, including the date of the individual
branch closures and parliamentary Constituencies.
