Policy regarding body scans

A Freedom of Information request to Department for Transport by Tom Morris

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have, in the past, sent a Freedom of Information Act request
regarding airport body scans which was completely ignored.

I would like to know what the current policy is regarding the use
of the low-level body scans at airports such as Heathrow,
specifically what protections are in place to prevent misuse of
collected images.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Morris

Dear Mr Morris

Further to our conversation, I can confirm that a response to this
question is due to be sent out to you today.

As this request was sent by you on 10th May which was a Saturday, it was
not "received" by us until Monday 12th. The 20 working days start the day
after that, and there was a Bank Holiday in between, so in fact today is
the 20th day.

Nonetheless, I am sorry that this is the second time you have had to
submit this request, and that we have not been able to respond earlier.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help you any further.

Regards.

Our lawyer says that delivery on a Saturday is the same as receipt on the Saturday - the law says nothing about the delivery day having to be a working day. So our code now disagrees with this authority, see http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/help/about...
