Dear Sir or Madam,
Could you please answer the following questions:
1) The number of serving British Transport Police Officers who are
currently employed with a 'long term disability' as defined by the
Disability Discrimination Act?
2) How many of those officers identified as having a long term
disability are employed in 'front line' public facing roles and how
many of those are 'desk bound' or in non public facing roles?
3) Could you supply a break down of the number of those officers
who have a long term disability into either physical or
psychological disabilities?
4) How many people were recruited as Police officers into the
British Transport Police since January 2007 who have long term
disabilities as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act?
Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Elliot,
Could you please assist me in explaining who does hold the
information I seek?
It is highly unlikely that a sizeable organisation like BTP does
not monitor or keep records of officers who may be subject to the
provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act.
I would imagine a search with with your Human Resources Department,
Occupational Health Department and Recruitment Department would be
able to easily provide the information requested.
I look forward to seeking the information I have requested.
Yours sincerely,
George Gardner
