Dear West Yorkshire Police,
I am seeking certain information related to police injury pensions.
1. Do you have a written policy governing the management and review
of police injury pensions? If you do, please provide me with a
copy.
2. Since August 2004, to date, how many injury pensions have been
reduced when reviewed?
3. Since August 2004, to date, how many injury pensions have been
increased when reviewed?

reduced to the lowest band when the former officer in receipt of
the pension reached (or had already reached) the age of 65?
5. If your force has any document recording any analysis and/or
consideration of the guidance contained in Annex C to Home Office
circular 46/2004 please supply me with a copy.
6. If your force has any document recording any calculation and/or
projection of the potential budgetary savings and/or financial
impact that might result from adoption of the guidance contained in
Annex C to Home Office circular 46/2004 please supply me with a
copy.

Dear West Yorkshire Police,
FOI Reference No: FOI-20094/12254
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of West Yorkshire
Police's handling of my FOI request 'Police Injury Pensions
Policy'.
I have made similar requests to all 43 forces in England and Wales
and so far, West Yorkshire is the only area that is claiming the
'cost exemption.'
My request asks several questions that could be answered with
minimal cost. Question 1 requires only a yes or no answer, together
with (if yes) a copy of a document that must be readily accessible.
Questions 5 and 6 would seem to me to require simply producing a
copy of a document or documents that again should be readily
accessible.
Questions 2, 3 and 4 may, if West Yorkshire does not maintain an
efficient record system, need a little more effort to answer, but
you have not offered any explanation as to why producing the
information requested is likely to be so costly.
If other forces can produce the requested data, then why cannot
West Yorkshire?
I ask you to look again at my request and, if you still wish to
claim the 'cost exemption' please provide me with a detailed
breakdown of how you have calculated the costs involved.
I do hope that this matter will not have to be placed before the
Information Commissioner.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:
